These terms govern your use of Vault 54, an online platform operated from Kanifing, The Gambia, that connects artists, galleries, curators and collectors. By creating an account you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. The date and version you accepted are recorded on your account.

Vault 54 is currently in beta. Features may change and occasional interruptions may occur. If we change these terms materially, we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue using the platform.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian, to create an account. You must give accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, misuse the platform or put other users at risk. You can ask us to close your account at any time.

Artists, galleries and curators may only list work they own or are authorised to sell. Listings must describe the work accurately, including medium, dimensions, condition, framing and price, and use images that truly represent the piece.

You keep the copyright in your work. By uploading images you give Vault 54 a non-exclusive licence to display them on the platform and in our promotion of the platform. The licence ends when you remove the work, except where it already appears in material we have published.

Prices are shown in US dollars. When you place an order you agree to pay the full amount using the payment method you choose. For bank transfer and mobile money, include your order reference so we can match your payment. An order is confirmed only once payment has been received and verified.

The seller is responsible for packing and shipping the artwork to the address you provide. Shipping costs, timelines, customs duties and taxes are arranged between buyer and seller unless stated otherwise on the listing.

Vault 54 keeps a commission on each completed sale. The rate is shown to sellers and recorded on every order at the time it is placed. The remaining amount is paid out to the seller after the buyer’s payment has been confirmed, using the payout details the seller provides.

If an order is cancelled or refunded, no commission is charged and any payout still owed is not made.

A buyer may cancel an order before payment is confirmed. After payment, cancellations and refunds are handled case by case. If an artwork arrives damaged or significantly different from its listing, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will work with both parties to resolve it.

Messages and offers sent through Vault 54 must be respectful and related to art, collaboration or purchases. Harassment, spam, fraud, and attempts to move a sale off the platform to avoid fees are not allowed.

Vault 54 provides the platform that connects buyers and sellers. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the condition, authenticity or delivery of artworks sold by independent sellers, or for losses that result from users’ actions. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Gambian consumer law.

These terms are governed by the laws of The Gambia. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of The Gambia.
