Privacy Policy

Vault 54 is an online art platform operated from Kanifing, The Gambia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what choices you have. Contact us at thevaults.africa@gmail.com with any privacy question.

Account details: your name, email address, password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider), role, location, profile photo, and the date and version of the Terms and this Policy you accepted.

Content you add: artworks and their images, descriptions, your biography and CV, bookmarks, and the messages and offers you send to other users.

Orders: shipping name, address, city, country, postal code and phone number; the payment method you chose; the transaction reference you give us; and the order’s status history. We do not store card numbers. Card payments, when available, are handled by our payment provider.

Usage data: basic, aggregated analytics about pages visited and site performance.

To run your account and show your public profile and artworks; to deliver messages; to process orders, confirm payments, arrange shipping and pay sellers; to keep the platform secure and prevent fraud; and to contact you about your account or orders.

We do not sell your personal information.

Public: your display name, profile photo, location, country of origin, biography, CV and published artworks. If you buy an artwork through Vault 54, or a seller lists you as the owner of a work, your display name is shown on that artwork as its owner and it appears in your Collection. You can remove yourself at any time.

Private: your email address, shipping details, orders and messages. Shipping details are shared only with the seller of an artwork you buy, and with anyone needed to deliver it. Vault 54 administrators can see orders and account details when needed to run the platform.

We use trusted providers to host the platform and its database, store images, send email and, when enabled, process card payments. They process data only on our instructions and only to provide their service.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.

We keep your account information while your account is open. Order records are kept for as long as required for accounting and legal purposes. If you delete your account we remove or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it by law.

You can view and edit your profile at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account by emailing thevaults.africa@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Access to personal information is restricted to the people and systems that need it, connections to the platform are encrypted, and database access is controlled per user. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

If we change this policy materially we will ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you sign in.
